THE LAKEHOUSE

The Lakehouse is a beautiful Cotswold home at the heart of the 550 acre Lower Mill Estate. It ideal for families with youngsters as well as for those couples and small groups looking to relax.

Lakehouse can accommodate 8 people comfortably and combines both the rustic charm of the area with modern utilities and ultra-fast 900mb broadband. We are pet friendly.

There is a log burner, endless view of Somerford lake, open plan double height living space, a fully applianced Cotswold kitchen for those home cooked meals, large dining table and plenty of sofa space to relax.

We have our own outdoor grassy area where dogs can have a walk and children can play.

Hire kayaks and canoes at the Activity Hub and watch your family enjoy the lake and its beautiful nature with full and close view from the property. Or explore the endless walking and biking trails around the estate.

Just a 5 minute walk and you will have free use of the ARTSPA with additional indoor and outdoor heated pools, a lily-filtered eco-pool, sauna, steam room, gym and spa treatments. For treatments it is best to book these before arrival with the Spa at additional cost.

The home was completely renovated recently with all new interior and facilities.

ROOMS

Lakehouse comprises two double king bedrooms overlooking Somerford Lake both with brand new ensuite bathrooms . Your property also has a twin room with two single beds, a shared bathroom and a bunk bed room accommodating 2 people. Please note the top bunk has a maximum occupant age of 12 years old.

PARKING

One private parking space at the property and free overflow parking 2 min walk.

THE LOCAL AREA

There is a cafe on site that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a convenience store for any holiday essentials. A 5 minute drive away to Ashton Keynes and there is a village shop selling local Cotswold farmer produce open 7-7 daily. A further 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk is Somerford Keynes for a beautiful Cotswold pub serving food daily and an amazing Sunday roast dinner. The estate is part of the Cotswold Water Park, Cirencester is only a 10 minute drive, Bourton-on-the-water and the famous lavender fields are a 30-40 minute drive away and well worth the trip. We are a 10 minute drive from Kemble Railway station which has a direct train into London Paddington.

LOWER MILL ESTATE

Lower Mill Estate is built around a large and diverse nature reserve supporting a range of wonderful habitats and wildlife. For those eager to get close to nature, you have hundreds of acres of nature reserve to explore with the woodlands and hedgerows acting as home to a diverse range of native wildlife. Scenic lakes provide plenty of opportunity for boating and fishing, while cyclists and runners can take advantage of the fresh clean air in complete safety thanks to a network of private footpaths. Over 25 species of waterbirds can be seen on the lakes over Winter. Spring brings a huge range of breeding birds including Nightingale, Cuckoo and Cetti’s Warbler. ACTIVITIES

Bike riding, kayaking, supping, hiking, fishing, yoga, tennis, football are available all year around. Equipment hire and guided activities at the Activities Centre, a 5 minute walk.

THE SPA FACILITY

The Lakehouse has free access to the award-winning family estate ArtSPA Spa, a 5 minute walk away and is the ultimate place to unwind and recharge. With two heated pools, a lily-filtered eco-pool, sauna, steam room and gym equipped with top-of-the-range Technogym equipment, there’s something for everyone. Tranquil treatment rooms scented with essential oils play host to therapies including hot stone massage, facials and pedicures and manicures using natural skincare products from The Natural Spa Factory.

Please see the SPA website for treatments which are an additional charge. We recommend taking some time out for the massage!

DEPOSIT

No deposit required. We do hope you respect and treat our property as your own home.

CLEANING

We ask for £90 towards cleaning and an additional £30 for each pet. Only two small dogs or one big dog allowed please. Check in is from 4 pm, check out by 10 pm.

ETHOS

Somerford Lake is a peaceful getaway from it all in the countryside. Long walks, bike rides, swimming and rest and relaxation are some of the key attractions for our guests be it couples, families or groups of friends looking to get away from it all. We are afraid we aren't able to welcome stag or hen parties or sports groups. Please contact us prior to booking if you're not a mixed group as we will require approval from the estate before accepting you to stay.
